This free software program is a great choice if you use a PC and are just beginning to create your own digital stories. It's simple to use, has many useful features and is easy to learn. It's also easy to teach others to use this program, from young children to senior citizens.

Please note that Photo Story 3 only supports the use of still images, so you will need to use a different software program, such as Windows Movie Maker or Adobe Premiere Elements, if you want to include video clips in your digital stories. Also, please note that you will need Windows Movie Media Player version 7 or later to play back the digital stories created with Photo Story 3. More information about Photo Story may be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photo_Story

Also, there has been a great deal of confusion about whether or not Photo Story 3 will work on PCs running the Windows 7 operating system. In our experience, the program, which you should know was originally developed for Windows XP, works fine on most desktop PCs running Windows 7. However, we have seen cases on some Windows 7 PCs with less expensive video cards or older video drivers, where the customize motion feature that lets you pan and zoom around images (also known as the Ken Burns effect) is difficult to use.

Please be aware that Photo Story 3 is a Windows only application, so if you are a Mac user, you may want to use a program such as iMovie or Adobe Premiere Elements for Mac.
